A different way to lose weight

You don't need another weight-loss program.

You need somewhere to keep showing up. Girl Code Daily is a place for people who want to make progress, stay connected to their goals, and still have an actual life while they're doing it.

Here's what I believe

I don't want to teach you how to lose weight. I want to help you figure out how to live while you're doing it.

I started my own weight-loss journey in 2023 with a lot of hope and almost no guidance. Three years and 75 pounds later, I'm still on the medication, still have more to lose, and still think about this stuff almost every day.

Not because I want weight loss to become my entire personality. Because I want to know how to do this without putting my actual life on hold.

I don't think you need another person telling you exactly what to eat. I don't think you need another 47 rules. I don't think a bad weekend means you need to start over Monday. And I definitely don't think you have to hate your body to want to change it.

I think you can lose weight, enjoy your life, have the pizza, take the trip, have the weird week, get back on track, and keep going.

That's the philosophy behind Girl Code Daily.

What changes when you're inside

You're not just getting content. You're getting a place to come back to.

The goal isn't to give you more things to save and never read. It's to make it easier to stay connected to the journey you're already on.

1

You stop disappearing from your own journey.

Life gets busy. The threads give you a reason to check back in, reflect on what you're doing, and keep weight loss from becoming the thing you only think about when the scale disappoints you.

2

You stop doing it all inside your own head.

Chat gives you people who understand the weird parts without needing the entire backstory. Celebrate a win, ask a question, complain about the scale. Someone gets it.

3

You have something to participate in.

Monthly challenges turn weight loss into something you can actually do together, instead of another goal sitting quietly in the background of your life.

4

You get perspective when your brain starts spiraling.

The articles are where I talk about the stuff underneath the number: food, GLP1s, body image, motivation, stress, recovery, the middle, and the things nobody puts in a before-and-after photo.

5

You notice progress while it's happening.

Wins, check-ins, weigh-ins and conversations give you more ways to see what is changing instead of waiting for goal weight to decide whether you did a good job.

6

You always have somewhere to come back to.

Had a great week? Come celebrate. Had a terrible one? Come back anyway. You don't graduate from Girl Code Daily, and you don't fail out of it.

Right now inside Girl Code Daily

October's challenge: let's get our steps in.

Monthly challenges give the community something tangible to do together. You'll find the challenge inside Chat, along with prompts and check-ins throughout the month.

The point isn't perfection. It's participation.

“I don't want Girl Code Daily to be another publication you subscribe to and forget about. I want you to actually want to open it.”
Hi, I'm Nyk.

I built the place I wanted when I started.

I started my journey in 2023 with a lot of hope and almost no guidance. Three years later, I've lost 75 pounds, learned a ridiculous amount, changed my mind about a lot of things, and realized that the information was never really the problem.

There is no shortage of information. What I wanted was somewhere to go when I was frustrated. Somewhere to celebrate. Somewhere to ask a question. Somewhere to be reminded that one weird week didn't erase everything.

So that's what I'm building. Not another weight-loss program. A place to keep showing up.
